This luxurious crimson red Eri silk mekhela sador is hand-woven in Assam with naturally dyed ahimsa eri silk, dyed with lac and enhanced with intricate woven designs in Tassar and naturally dyed eri silk. The exquisite motifs are a mix of the traditional motifs Gos (tree) and Mayur ( peacock) along with floral patterns

Mekhela sador ( chador/chadar) is a traditional dress, similar to a saree, worn in Assam - it consists of two pieces - a lower portion called mekhela, like a stitched sarong and an upper portion called the sador ( chador/chadar).
